How to use them for hemorrhoids
1. Apply Topically – Only some of the essential oils can be applied directly on the skin. So make sure to check that. Most of them will need some kind of a carrier oil. You can take 2-3 drops of the blend on a soft piece of cloth and apply it gently on the affected area. You can repeat this 2 to 3 times a day as per your requirement.
If in any case you find itching on the area, do not repeat it. This is because a few people can be a bit reactive to a certain oil so you really have to test it out first. Although adding them to carrier oil dilutes them to a good extent but its better to test it first.
2. Sitz bath – Sitz bath is one of the common ways by which you can get relief from hemorrhoids pain. Adding soothing oils like lavender oil to your sitz bath water can be very helpful. What you can do is add – 6-8 drops of lavender oil to a carrier oil and then add it to the water. It will soothe the itching and pain.
3. Massage the area – You can make a blend of 40-45 drops of base oil like sweet almond or jojoba mixed with 3-5 drops of chamomile oil, geranium oil and lavender oil. You can apply this blend on the affected area 2 to 3 times every day and before you sleep. This will help in soothing the area.

You can use these oils by themselves or you can even make a blend by mixing them up with others. As an example, here is a simple blend or essential oil recipe you can use to treat hemorrhoids
- 4 drops lavender
- 2 drops cypress
- 2 drops helicrysum
- 5 drops geranium
- 20 drops of carrier oil (almond oil, coconut oil)
You can mix them together to form a nice blend of oils. You can add them to your sitz bath and if you find everything nice and comfortable, you can also try them by applying locally.
